Old Carnegie Library of Valdosta

It was built in 1913 for $40,000, with help from a $15,000 Carnegie grant. It was the first of many buildings in the region designed by local architect by the name of Lloyd V. Greer. The library opened in 1914 and served the community as a library for decades. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 12, 1984 & now houses the Lowndes County Historical Society & Museum.
