Bairds Baptist Church in Greene County

The church's records for the years 1802-1853 were destroyed in a house fire prior to WW2 so the history is sketchy. The church was constituted in 1802 as Fishing Creek Baptist Church. The original location was about a mile away from the present location. Sometime around 1807 it was renamed Bairds after a prominent member and sometime around 1812 moved here. The church was constructed sometime between 1812 and 1845, but the actual date has not been ascertained.
