Lee & Gordon's Mill in Chickamauga

Built by 3 Gordon Brothers in 1836, when the town was known as Crawfish Springs, the Grist Mill also had an attached general store that was the first general store in Walker County. In 1857 one of the sons in law took over the mill, James Lee.The Mill was occupied by both sides during the Battle of Chickamauga in the Civil War. It continued in operation until 1967 when it was retired. Bought by local business man and mayor Frank Pierce in 1993 it has been restored to operating condition.
