Penfield Presbyterian Church

Penfield is well known as the original location of Mercer University. Baptists were the faith in the town which was founded in 1833. There were several Presbyterian families which came to the area later and were served by a visiting pastor on a Sunday night service in local homes. The families wanted their own sanctuary and as the congregation grew they built this handsome church in 1876. It is still active today.
