Old Train Depot

Many moons have come and gone since this station in Tift County saw its last train. Today it stands watch as a testament and reminder to the once great Atlantic Coast Line Railroad and bygone days. In its former life it served as the halfway point on the ACLs Albany to Waycross line. Many trains passed and or stopped here daily as this was a freight depot and had a small yard just to the left of my location. Today after many years of sitting vacant and not being used, it’s home to two entities, the Tifton Terminal Railway Museum and South Georgia Model Railroad Club.
