The Summer Home of Jospeh Habersham

Joesph Habersham was a businessman, politician, Office in the Continental Army and Postmaster General for the US.  Habersham County is named after him. His biography is here.

There are two dates for the house. one is 1812 and one is 1817. Many wealthy Georgians would leave the heat of the coastal plain in the summer and come north for cooler weather. Regardless of the date of construction, the main body of the house is that old. Moist likely an addition was added on the left side and on the roof and one added earlier on the right side.
