Built in 1839 at the start of the pre-Civil War cotton boom, this Georgian Style house was built by John Byne Walker and his wife Eliza Fannin, Both families were early Morgan County Pioneers. Around 1850, a Boxwood Garden was added thathas appeared in numerous gardening publications over the years. More recently, the home was used as the main set for " Warm Springs", a TV movie about FDR's struggles with Polio.
