If you'd been standing in this spot in March 1864,instead of 2017, you'd have been at least waist-deep in a torrent of water. This was the final portion of the millrace for the New Manchester Manufacturing Company Mill, before it was channeled through the mill's waterwheel. The millrace stone wall can still be seen on the right. The channel used to be deeper than this, but a 150+ years of runoff from the hillside on the left has filled it in significantly. Located in Sweetwater Creek State Park in Douglas County.
