Despite being on the National Register of Historic Places in Fulton County (Category #6), the DAR House, also known as the Craigie House, is no longer standing in Atlanta across from Piedmont Park.
When I took this photo, all that remained was the front facade as you can see. This mansion was built in 1911 by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Over the years, weather played a huge part in its downfall.
In the 80s, a tree fell on the structure, surprisingly making it ‘unusable’. In 95, Hurricane Opal paraded through and caused even more damaged. And the snow/ice storm of 2014, left it with only the front facade standing.
The structure was demolished in 2016.
