Back in the good old days people ate at road side tables instead of fast food joints. Maybe baloney sandwiches on white bread and a jug of koolaide in my growing up years. In the 70's I can remember stopping with my kids and having fried chicken from KFC. What was pure torture was knowing you had the food in the car but when you got to the table someone was already there so you had to move on until you found another one. Yes there are rest areas now and probably much safer but still the memories are there. Did you ever eat at one and if so can you remember what you had?
