Palmetto GA

The Levi Ballard House (no longer standing). Was located in Palmetto, GA  at NE corner of the intersection of HWY 29 & HWY 154. A Chevron gas station was built in front of it, it sat that way for many years before being torn down in 2007 I think.
Legend has it that Levi Ballard came back from The War Between the States with a lot of gold but no one knew where he got it from. He quickly became the most prominent man in town, he was a Planter and president of the bank of Palmetto. He also went on the become a Georgia State Senator.
