The Mitchell House (No Longer Standing) Picture taken in 2005
Plantation Plain style house on the corner of Jackson & McDonough Roads. Most likely built 1820's-1840's. Dr Thomas Mitchell was a doctor in the Confederate Army in the War Between the States. He was also a Baptist Minister and preached at Teamon Baptist Church.
Not sure why the house was torn down unless someone was salvaging the wood, as it's out in the middle of nowhere and nothing was ever buil...t in it's place.
