Atkinson County GA
Atkinson County - The demolition of the old American Legion building began today in Pearson, GA. American Legion Post #173, also known as the Ensign Ashley D. Morris American Legion Post #173, was built in 1947 in honor of veterans of WWI & WWII. People have been recently sharing memories of the building's dances, meetings, proms, and other functions of the building over the years including a school and library. Another small piece of local history gone but not forgotten. (The top picture was from September 2015)
