Found the Grave Today for Dr. John S. Pemberton.
Someone recently left him a Coca-Cola. You might not know Dr. Pemberton, a pharmacist was wounded in the last battle of the Civil War. He was a Lieutenant Colonel of the Confederate Army's Third Cavalry Battalion. His wound was from a saber slash and at the time morphine was the common painkiller, many veterans became addicted. After the war he sought opium free alternatives, he experimented with kola nut and coca, first called Pemberton's French Wine Coca. The rest is history, the formula he created in Columbus Georgia became Coca-Cola or in the south and world over as Coke (Muscogee County)
