Many people don't know there is a Revolutionary War Battlefield in Wilkes County...or even Georgia. But on February 14th,1779 a group of Patriots defeated a larger group of Loyalists at a place called Kettle Creek. The park and monuments are well off the beaten path but worth the trip. This marker list the names of all known participants. There were many more but the names have not yet been verified.
