CCC Memorial
Definitely forgotten and its history is one of my passions. You will find this statue at Georgia's largest state park, FDR in Harris County. It is to commemorate and stands as a memorial to the CCC Boys. (Civilian Conservation Corp 1933 to 1942) This was part of FDR's "New Deal" program during the Great Depression. Every county in the state was affected by this program, millions of trees planted, hundreds of dams and water reservoirs, 15 state parks and 4 national parks just in our state alone. If you have CCC history in your county, I would love to see it. I will visit it in person as I ride around the state.
