Seven Toed Maggie!!

Has anyone else from down by Cordele heard the story of "Seven Toed" Maggie? if so, what is your version of this folklore story?
The version I've heard is a young teacher named Maggie dropped an axe on her foot and cut off 3 toes. Now if you drive around the church she taught at (located off Seven Toe Road in Crisp County) she'll appear.. I've never tired it.. still scared.
There must be some truth to it if they've named a road after her.

  1. I’ve been to the church. The Legend I heard was of a Native American Warrior who raped the daughter of a tribal chief, and was banished by the tribe. They forced the warrior to dress as a woman and after trying to steal food from a framer the farmer cut off 3 toes tied them around Maggie’s neck. Maggie later died in the church after being chased by settlers. I know people who have been into the church and felt like someone was grabbing their leg. Tried picking the Bible off of the pulpit and could not get it out the door.
