In Upson County, on Hwy 36, in a communuty called "The Rock" .... you will find this marker. It marks the spot of the first post office along the stagecoach route of the Old Federal Road in 1816. I have traced the entire Old Federal Road from Gainesville to Chattanooga but this is the first part I have found south of Hall County.
