Family Cemetery in the Edge of the Oconee National Forest
This pioneer family came from NC. The patriarch of this family was a major during the Revolutionary War. There were graves in the woods behind here, there were some marked only with rocks all were from the 1700 and 1800's ..... last one buried was in 1902. There were several little ones interred here. Along with the major, there were 2 who fought in the War of 1812 and 3 CSA soldiers. 2 of the latter died in the Wilderness Campaign where General Longstreet was injured.
