The Old Tower Site of 1590 WALG-AM in Albany, GA (formerly WALB-AM)

In 1941, there was a metal shortage due to WWII. The WALG engineers built this one-of-a-kind antenna system out of ship masts from a shipyard in either Brunswick or Savannah (the story changes depending on whose telling it). This antenna system was in use from 1941 until 2015 when it was demolished. A quick youtube search will find my video of them being cut down.
