Fort Frederica on St Simons Island
Fort Frederica (1736) was built by James Oglethorpe to protect the southern colony boundary from the Spanish raids. Not much remains of the fort and small town, but it is a very interesting place to visit. It has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1966. Located on St. Simons Island near Brunswick, GA.
