The mill was owned by BF Goodrich and produced tire cord. I worked there from 1978 through 1979. The mill was closed in 2001 due to increasing pressure of foreign competition. It fell victim to NAFTA. The building is only a shell now as all of the inside heart pine flooring has been removed and sold.
