Heritage Hall in Madison

Built in 1811, it was purchased in 1830 by Dr Elijah Evans Jones who in addition to being a physician was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Female College in Madison and a major shareholder in the Georgia Railroad. In 1909, it was placed on logs and rolled by teams of horses 200 feet to it's present location to make room for the new Methodist Church. It is now open for special events and daily tours.
