The Georgia Railroad Depot in Madison

There are conflicting dates as to when it was constructed. Some say early 1840's and some late 1850's. More likely the former. Service to Augusta was inaugurated in 1841 and to Marthasville (Atlanta) in 1845. In 1864, Union forces burned the building leave the shell. The interior was rebuilt and there it is today.
