Cason Family Cemetery

Located on Butler Creek Trail in Phinizy Swamp in Richmond County. It is literally located in the swamp and for years was abandoned and uncared for. The Cason family once owned much of the land that the Nature Preserve now inhabits and the cemetery was fenced to prevent further vandalism.The earliest grave dates back to 1803-George Lowe. I remember reading somewhere that Elizabeth died and was interred elsewhere and her father? brought her back home to be buried many years later.
