The Remains of Young's Mill

Originally known as Bird's Mill, it was constructed as a Saw Mill in 1834 on Beech Creek. The Young family acquired the mill in 1868 and constructed a Grist Mill, which remained in operation by the family until the 50's. Now Beech Creek feeds into West Point Lake at about this point and when the lake is at full pool, much of the remaining structure is submerged.
