Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville

This was the original hanger at Gainesville's Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport. It was built by the Navy during the war when the airport was an auxiliary Naval Air Station. They built 3 buildings, the Hangar, a Brig/Maintenance Office and an administration/instruction building with a control tower. This picture was taken in August 2016 and sadly this and the hangar were torn down sometime after that. The admin building still is going strong.
