This was my Dad's Post Office box since 1946 in Brooks County. I closed the account today and now it will go on to serve someone else. As I stood there looking at it for one last time, many memories flooded my mind, but especially two. Once, he passed out while checking his mail, and evidently no one came in while he was laying on the floor. When he " woke up," he of course didn't know how long he had been there. Another time, he sent my young son inside to collect the mail, and the FBI was making an arrest. I always gave Dad a hard time about sending my son into a hostile environment.
