Railroad Depot in Warthen

Built by the Augusta Gibson and Sandersville Railroad in 1886, that railroad was reorganized in 1893 into the Augusta Southern, which later became part of the Georgia & Florida. Like many small railroads of the time, none of these lines was really profitable. The line thru Warthen was abandoned in 1934. Surprising the depot has survived in such good condition after all these years.
