The Dugas House in Washington

Built in the early 1790's by Mr. and Mrs. Louis Dugas, French refugee's from Santo Domingo. Mrs. Dugas operated an exclusive boarding school for girls in the beginning. Their son, Louis Alexander Dugas, was one of the states most distinguished physicians. He started the Medical College of Georgia, which is now part of Augusta University.
