Cochran Cemetery is nestled against the south side of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northern Dawson County. Founded in 1862, this small opening in the forest is accessible by way of a dirt road that includes two creek fords and a 50 yard walk down a trail. Interred here are many members of the Cochran family, including four veterans of the Confederate Army (two of whom died during the Civil War), and a veteran of the War of 1812.
