The Ballastone in Savannah was built on land that was part of the southern boundary of the original settlement by James Oglethorpe in 1733. The home was built by George Anderson in 1838 and his son Major George Anderson inherited it in 1874. It was enlarged to it's present size in 1883 by another ex-CSA officer name Blun. Today it is the Ballastone Inn.
