Brooks County Courthouse at Quitman
John F. Garrett
The Brooks County Courthouse was built from 1859–64; Because of shortages of material and labor, the courthouse was one of only two courthouses in Georgia built during the Civil War; the other is the Banks County Courthouse in Homer. The county paid for the building with $14,985 in Confederate money, which soon became worthless.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooks_County_Courthouse_(Quitman,_Georgia)
