The Congregration was founded in 1900 when the Pacolet built a textile mill and created the mill town of New Holland. It was named after the former owner of the Holland Hotel whose widow had sold the land to Pacolet to build the mill and the town. The church was built in 1904 and was home to New Holland Methodists and Baptists. Both congregations raised funds and the mill contributed the rest and the land. The Baptists constructed their own church in 1951 and the Methodists continued to meet here until 2013 when they voted to close the church. It is now used as a community church.
