Mt. Mariah Campground in Matthews

This is the oldest area of the cemetery. The old cedar trees still watch over it. Legend says they put fences around the graves because the mules & horses would get “spooked” by the shouting congregations at the “Holy Ghost Meetings" under the Tabernacle.
