Prospect United Methodist Church in Jackson County

Was organized in 1788, eight years before the creation of Jackson County. The first services were held under a vine arbor until nearby Fort Strong was completed and then services moved there, Around 1812 a small log church was constructed but proved inadequate so the congregation moved to the Prospect Meeting House, The current structure was constructed in 1890 and services are still held there.
