Danburg Baptist Church in Wilkes County

The history of this Danburg Baptist Church is somewhat confusing as what little there is conflicts but New Hope or Newford Baptist Church was organized in 1795 and a small log church was built. A new church was built in 1834 close by. After the Civil War the town of Danburg was organized and in 1879, in the era of segregation, the white members decided to leave Newford Baptist and built the current church.
