Ghost Signs
There are different opinions of what a ghost sign is and they are located all over the world. I like to think of them as fading advertising signs on brick walls. Wikipedia says..."A ghost sign is an old hand-painted advertising sign that has been preserved on a building for an extended period of time. The sign may be kept for its nostalgic appeal, or simply indifference by the owner."
Here are some that have been submitted to the page in the past. In my opinion they are not the same as the murals we see on many buildings today. Their beauty comes from the fading and sometimes when they are repainted (as the Coke sign in Cartersville) they lose their charm. I'll have ghost signs again next month to see what anyone can come up with. I'm changing this months challenge #2 to soft drink signs.
