An old family photo. My great-grandfather, William Lycett, an Atlanta artist, is pictured on the top row at the left on the beach at Tybee Island (Chatham County). He was a member of the Governor's Horse Guard, a state militia unit. They were on maneuvers at Camp Meldrum in the summer of 1897. According to the caption in his handwriting in the album, they were "bathing at Tybee".
