The First African Baptist Church in Darien

The Congregation goes all the way back to the the very early 1800's. The first church on the site was built in 1834. In 1862 Union troops burned Darien and the church. The current church was built right after the war and dedicated in 1868. It is a very near replica to the original 1834 church.
