This is the childhood home of Charles Arthur "Pretty Boy" Floyd in Bartow County. He lived there until he was about seven years old. Floyd (February 3, 1904 – October 22, 1934) was a well-known bank robber. His criminal adventures created extensive press coverage in the 1930s. He was hunted down and killed by a group of men led by Melvin Purvis. Pretty Boy Floyd continues to be a familiar name in American culture. Some people say he was notorious, but other people say his life was tragic because of the Great Depression.
