Unique Memorial in Douglas

This is a very unique looking memorial at the Douglas Municipal Airport in Coffee County. A propeller blade as a memorial (the plaque reads) to "Lost in Douglas crashes: 9/10/42 Instructor Mike L. Sewell and Cadet Joseph C. Lamanna - 11/18/42 Instructor James R. Puryear and Cadet Robert W. Post - Hundreds of 63rd cadets later died for freedom." The 63rd refers to the 63rd Army Air Force Flight Training Detachment that came to the flight training school from 8/41 to to 11/44 and flew in WWII.
