Turner’s Corner Cafe at the junction of US HWY 129 & 19 in Lumpkin County was opened in 1928 as a gas station. It was expanded into a country store, then finally into its final role as a cafe. It went into foreclosure in 2009, then was re-opened by a new owner in 2011. It is currently permanently closed & up for sale, so it remains to be seen whether it will see another chapter under a new owner or pass into Georgia history.
