This building, originally owned by S.M. Clyatt and known as The Clyatt Building, was built in 1907. The Clyatt Building, originally five stories, housed a roof garden, Elks Lodge, store rooms and office rooms. It was known as Tifton's first skyscraper and was considered one of the most modern buildings in this section of Georgia. In 1924, while the Coastal Plains Hospital occupied one of the upper levels, the top two floors were destroyed by fire. In reconstruction, these top floors were deleted.
