RR Tracks

I have seen the old "Produce" building in Starrsville in Newton County on this page a few times in the past. These are the RR tracks that ran right in front of that building. The Central of Georgia Railway arrived in 1890 and laid these which lead into Covington. This photo was taken in September of 2014 the day they reached Starrsville while picking this track up. You can see the track on the left has been detached from the cross ties while the one on the right is still secured and straight. Shortly after this was taken they made it all the way to Covington with the track removal effectively erasing a little bit of the areas history.
