The East Athens Public School /Oconee Street School
Built between 1908 and 1913. The original brick building was two stories in the front and stepped down to one story in the rear. Within fifteen years, the rear portion of the building was expanded to two stories. Another small two story addition projects from the Main Building's southeast side, the date of construction is unknown. The East Athens Public School served elementary grades. Sometime between 1918 and 1926, the school was renamed the Oconee Street School. Around 1954, a freestanding building was added behind the Main Building that served as a cafeteria and auditorium. The building continued to function as a school until 1975.
