Bath Presbyterian in Richmond County

Bath Presbyterian was established in 1784 as some of the planter class migrated north to Richmond County to escape the malaria outbreaks in the summers to the south. The community of Bath was established about that time as the new residents found the natural mineral springs refreshing the community was made up of primarily Scottish-Presbyterians and in 1836 John Trowbridge built the church that is in use today. The full history is here.
