The John Roland Temple House in Hartwell

Circa 1906. At the time the house was actually a small farm where he and his wife grew a little cotton and sold milk to neighbors. Mr. Temple operated a saw mill on the Savannah River that supplied lumber to build many of the houses during the early 1900's.
