Zebulon Methodist Church in Hancock County

Zebulon Methodist Church began as an early log meeting house that was open for any faith to come and worship. By 1835, the land was deeded for a group of men to start a Methodist Episcopal Church, which it became. Records do not exist between then and 1871 when a group of men and women re=organized their church and obtained a certificate from Reynolds Chapel in Devereaux. Devout Methodists, they wanted a sanctuary closer to their homes. Membership grew and in 1880 they decided they needed a larger building and so additional land was purchased. The new building and the current structure was built in the middle of the plot and dedicated around 1883.Despite untimely illness and death of key members and pastors, it still is active today.
