Mr Clyde Byrd's Store in Durand

It was the meeting place where Sheriff Lamar Potts met an "Informant" during the late hours one night in 1948 to obtain the whereabouts of the body of Wilson Turner - John Wallace of Meriwether County was eventually tried and convicted of the murder - Wallace was put to death in Georgia's electric chair in 1950 - TRUE story.. Book written about it by Margaret Ann Barnes called "Murder in Coweta County".. made into a CBS made for TV movie in 1982 starring Johnny Cash and Andy Griffith.
